- Insert the valve stem into the coupling
- Choose the plug's orientation in the coupling according to the valve's intended location in the plumbing
Notes:
- The actuator is pre-programmed to the closed position.
- Usually, the servo connector pins should point downstream, and the plug's port-sealing O-ring should face upstream.
- Thus, the port O-ring usually faces away from the servo pins. Exceptions occur when the downstream chamber volume must be minimized.
- Align the hole in the valve stem with the hole in the coupling.
- Secure them together by driving the spring pin to flush with the coupling.
Install the actuator and plug assembly into the valve body.
- Check the valve stem for proper lubrication free of dust, fibers or other contamination on the plug and O-rings
- Choose the actuator's orientation on the valve body
- According to the valve's intended location in the plumbing usually, the servo connector pins should point downstream (in the same direction as the arrow on the side of the valve)
- Strictly observe the correct "top/bottom" orientation when inserting the plug into the body.
- The top has a hole where the stop pin used to be.
- The plug valve must be inserted into the top.
- The plug passage in the bottom of the body is not sufficiently chamfered to protect the port O-ring from damage during installation.
- Exercise care to avoid shearing the surface of the port O-ring, especially on 1/4 valves.
- It may help to "tuck" the last part of the O-ring into its groove as it enters the valve body.
- Align the actuator frame with valve body and insert valve stem straight into top of valve body
- Secure valve stem with the circlip
