Jump to content
- Cut a SS304 bar 3/16 x 1/2 to the length shown in the model.
- Use the bandsaw to grind the bar down to the correct length.
- The bar length should be within 10 thou to the length in the model.
- Use the mill to a .169 hole on both ends of the bar.
- The screw going through this hole is a 6-32, the size of the hole on the bar is 25 thou larger than the screw.
- Use a carbide chamfer bit to chamfer the holes on both sides.
- This is only to get rid of the bur on both sides of the hole.
- Be very careful with this bit, carbide is strong but brittle so even dropping it will cause it to break.
- Insure that there is no bur on both ends of the bar.
- If there is a bur use the grinding wheel to remove it.
