FTC Air Line Creation
Appearance
Instructions

- Determine and Cut Tubing Lengths
- Start by routing a test piece of Excelon SL PVC tubing from the air manifold to the FTC.
- Ensure that the curve of the tubing follows a natural path—neither too tight nor too relaxed.
- Once you’ve determined the optimal path, use this test piece to measure and cut the remaining air lines to the appropriate lengths.
- Mark Tubing Depth
- Use a Sharpie to mark a depth line on the tubing, approximately 5/8 inch from the end that will be inserted into the push fitting at the air manifold.
- This step ensures that the tubing is inserted to the correct depth, although it may not be necessary in all cases.
- Label the Tubing
- Print a tag with the FTC name (e.g., "gr 5") and place the label about 0.5 inches beyond the depth mark.
- Ensure that the label is printed twice for clarity and securely attached to avoid confusion during installation and maintenance.
- Apply Silicone Lubricant
- Apply a small amount of silicone lubricant between your thumb and forefinger, ensuring only the faintest coating is applied to the outer diameter of the manifold end of the tube.
- Be careful to limit the lubricant to the last 1/4 to 1/2 inch of the tubing to prevent excess from contaminating the rest of the assembly.
- Insert Tubing into the Manifold
- Firmly grasp the tube about 1 inch from the end and insert it into the fitting with a slight twisting motion until the depth mark is reached.
- If necessary, depress the fitting release collar to ease the insertion.
- Ensure the tube is fully seated, with the depth mark aligning with the edge of the fitting.
- Final Inspection
- Once all tubing is installed, conduct a thorough inspection to ensure all connections are secure, the labels are correctly placed, and there are no visible signs of damage or misalignment.
- Check for any air leaks using soapy water or a leak detection spray, particularly around the fittings.
- Documentation
- Record the lengths of all cut tubing pieces and their corresponding FTCs for future reference.
- Ensure all steps are documented in accordance with the quality control process.
