  1. To prepare the actuator frame, tap the four frame servo mounting holes with a 6-32 tap.
    1. To tap the frame start by clamping the frame end to end into a vice with the bottom facing up.
    2. Place the tool for this item on the bottom of the frame.
    3. Use a power drill and 6-32 tap to tap the holes.
    4. Fill one tub with water and one tub with soap and water.
    5. Put the frame in the water, swirl it around, then place it in a tub of tap water.
    6. Rinse off the frame.
    7. Dry the frame with compressed air.
    8. Check to see if there is any debris in the holes.
  2. Press-form the 4PV frame bearing tabs to properly bear on the 4PV body (TL-TBT4PVAF).
    • Use special tooling; See photos.
A bench vice holding the actuator frame with the hole facing up while bending the metal tabs around the frame with the TL-TBT4PVAF laying on the work table beside the vice showing the metal rod in the center of the vice.
Bench vice bending tabs around the actuator frame.
The TL-TBT4PVAF with the hole inside of the actuator frame that is in the bench vice holding the actuator frame with the hole facing up and bending the metal tabs around the frame.
TL-TBT4PVAF placed on top of the actuator frame that is in a bench vice.
  3. There are two parts to the tool for bending tabs 4PV actuator frame in the 4PV frame.
    • One part inside of the frame has a hole in it and the hole faces up.
    • The other part of the tool has a metal rode in the center and goes between the tabs that we will be bending and the rode goes into the hole of the other tool.
  4. Place a 1 inch parallel on another vice with a 1-1/4 parallel behind it and a spring holding it all together.
  5. Place the TL-TBT4PVAF and vice with the frame inside of it inside of a vice setup.
  6. Close the vice until the tabs touch the tool between the tabs.
TL-TBT4PVAF and vice with the actuator frame placed inside of it inside of a vice setup.
All components being placed inside of a vice set up.
    • Pay attention to how much the vice is being closed because it is very easy to bend the tabs on the frame too much.
