CEGS Frame
Appearance
- Use Onshape to create a temporary version of the system that has all components hidden except for:
- 8020 frame components. This includes all strut, brackets, t-nuts, and slide-lock parts.
- Fitting hangers
- Screws associated with t-nuts
- Create a cut-list for the 8020 strut. Cut longest pieces first.
- The length of the pieces must be accurate to the model and all cuts must be square.
- Use the rotary saw for long pieces and the table saw for shorter ones.
- Label every piece with its length
- Identify pieces which need to be tapped on the ends. Hold pieces in the vice an use a 1/4-20 tap held in the drill.
Assembling the Frame
- Start with the base of the frame and work upwards. Keep screws only loosely tightened until every piece has been assembled.
- For every piece of strut, check the model to find the number and type of t-nuts it has, as well as their order on the strut. This cannot be easily changed later. Insert t-nuts with the chamfered side up.
