Tapping
- Insert the actuator frame tapping fixture 6PV (TL-AFTF6PV) on top of the frame.
- Clamp the frame end-to-end in a vise with the servo mounting holes at the top.
- Tap the four servo mounting holes using a 6-32 cutting tap (not a forming tap).
- Clean the frame to remove cutting oil and chips.
Attaching the Servo
Attach the frame to the servo according to the actuator model.
Adjusting the Tabs
Adjust the bend corners near the bearing tabs as needed to achieve a snug fit to a 1.125" × 1/2" parallel.
- Open the tabs if necessary
- Press the corners slightly toward the top of the frame so the tabs fit loosely on the parallel.
- Close the tabs to size
- Press the frame sides together to the predetermined vise-handle position.
- Find the correct vise-handle position by trial and error.
- Gradually increase the amount of closure in small increments
- Test the fit with the parallel after each adjustment.
- Find the correct vise-handle position by trial and error.
- Press the frame sides together to the predetermined vise-handle position.
