  1. Make a sharp 90-degree bend in the leads 1/16 inch above the back surface, so the leads point away from the center of the furnace.
  2. Clip the leads to length (use furnace lead sizer, TL-FLS), insulate with fish-spine beads, and terminate each lead with a Molex male pin.
Clip leads ~40.6 mm from bend; 8 beads per lead.
  3. Refer to steps 2 and 3 in CFF preperation
  4. Bend a thermocouple sheath to appropriate length using the TC bender (TL-TCB).
  5. Refer to step 6 through 10 in CFF preperation
GR: About 15 g of potting cement
  6. Use the thermocouple adjuster (TL-TCA) to position the thermocouple sheath 0.020 .. 0.030 inch away from the furnace wall. Prepare a 50:50 mixture of Watlow's Hot Surface mix and High Temperature Electrical Potting cement. Add a small quantity of rigidizer to the combination and mix thoroughly to produce a mortar-like slurry. Orient the furnace so the length of the chamber is horizontal, or nearly so, with the thermocouple at the bottom. Moisten the furnace chamber surface beneath the thermocouple sheath with rigidizer. Trowel the slurry to encase the thermocouple sheath and bond it to the furnace wall. Finish with a rigidizer-moistened tool to smooth and shape the encasement. Turn the furnace on with a setpoint of 150 °C for several hours to cure.
