GR Furnace Arm Creation
Appearance
Instructions

- Prepare the furnace arm blank
- Carefully remove any plastic covering of adhesive residue from the surface of the furnace arm blanks
- Tap the bottom hole
- Use a 6-32 tap to thread the bottom hole of the furnace arm. Ensure the tap is properly aligned to avoid damaging the threads
- Ream the large hole
- Secure the furnace arm blank in a vise, but do not over-tighten; the blank should be held loosely to allow the reamer to self-center within the hole
- Use an oversized 3/8" reamer in a milling machine to enlarge the large hole
- Set the mill to a slow speed and apply cutting oil to ensure a smooth finish and prevent overheating
- Carefully ream the hole, ensuring the reamer stays centered to avoid damaging the tool or workpiece
