General directions for all furnaces can be located here. Use these directions when instructed below.

  1. Make a sharp 90-degree bend in the leads 1/16 inch above the back surface, so the leads point away from the center of the furnace.
  2. Clip the leads to length (use furnace lead sizer, TL-FLS), insulate with fish-spine beads, and terminate each lead with a Molex male pin.
    • Clip leads approximately 40.6 millimeter from bend; 8 beads per lead.
  3. Refer to steps 2 and 3 in CFF preparation
  4. Bend a thermocouple sheath to appropriate length using the TC bender (TL-TCB). The CCQ furnaces (12 beads) do not get a thermocouple.
  5. Refer to step 6 through 10 in CFF preparation
CCS: About 15 grams of potting cement
  6. If the furnace does not allow the inlet port furnace aligner tool (TL-IP-FA) to freely pass in and out of the furnace, use a diamond coring tool to clear the hole. Use the mill or your fingers to spin the bit and gently remove the material causing the bind. The furnace aligner should freely pass through the hole unassisted.
