- Cut blanks that are at least 1.145 inch x 1.145 inch x .50 inch.
- The final blank will be 1.125 inch x 1.125 inch x .50 inch.
- Using the mill size the blanks:
- Setup a stop so that the blank hangs off the size of the vice jaws.
- Set the mill to a certain distance from the jaw to get it close to the final size.
- Keep in mind that every side will need to be cut.
- Use one of the milling tools to cut one side of the blank by some amount.
- Place that cut edge on the bottom of the vice then make another cut.
- After this second cut you now have two edges that are perpendicular to each other.
- Place the two cut sides against the stop and the bottom of the vice and make another cut
- Rotate the block and cut the last uncut edge.
- When you make a cut on one side remember to make the same cut.
- On the perpendicular side to keep the block square.
