VTC Assembly TC=thermocouple

  1. VTC heater assembly bend the TC-T FEP 3x60 using the thermocouple bender (TL-TCB)
  2. Make a first bend on the line indicated by the tool, with the red wire facing up use a wooden block to push the thermocouple against the metal rod so that it creates a sharp turn turn the thermocouple 180 degrees.
  3. Make a second bend use the technique that was previously mentioned to make the bend in the end.
    • There should be two 90 degree bends that create an S shape.
  4. Find or make 3 of the TC-T economy.
    • These wires should have been made when cutting all of the wires for the system.
    • The TC-T economy should be at least as long as the TC-T FE.
  5. Cut a 1 inch piece of heatshrink 2:1 clear 1 place the heatshrink on the VTT heater heatshrink sizer.
  6. Carefully heat the folded edges so that it becomes circular.
    • The heatshrink should be mostly round but it shouldn't grip the sizer.
  7. Place the TC-T FEP into the small hole at the bottom of a completed VTC thermal conduit (MP-VTCTHCND).
    • Check the model to properly orientate the TC-T FEP.
  8. Take a TC-T economy cable and place it to the right of the TC-T FEP so that the red wires on both are facing the same direction.
  9. Slide the 1 inch piece of heatshrink over the thermocouple s.
  10. Very gently heat it to the point where it is loosely holding the cables.
    • Adjust the blue cable such that the junction is 0.71 in from the bottom edge of the conduit cup.
  11. Heat the heatshrink to hold both TC.
  12. Inserting the heater into the VTC body align the TC-T economy with the hole that it will go through. [IMAGE]
  13. First use the bottom side of the VTT to line up the TC. [IMAGE]
  14. Then insert the heater into the VTT. [IMAGE]
  15. Align the heater so that the cables rest in the notch at the top of the VTC body.
  16. Check that the orientation has the blue thermocouple cable on the right, the white conduit wires on the left, and the metal thermocouple in the middle.
  17. Bend a second TC-T 90 degrees at the junction insert the TC-T into the cup of the heater.
  18. Ziptie the TC-T to the other thermocouple wires shape .5 grams of copper wool around a culture tube quartz 12 x 75 mm.
  19. Slowly push the cooper wool into the cup of the heater.
  20. Place transfer tape on the lid of the VTC.
  21. Press the lid onto the body of the VTC upper.
  22. Place transfer tape on the top of the body of the VTC lower
  23. Trim the transfer tape so that it does not hang over any empty gaps.
  24. Press the body of the VTC upper into the body of the VTC lower
  25. Ziptie the wires together.
