# Cut the bar
# Prepare the Stainless Steel Bar
#: Start by cutting a SS304 bar (3/16" x 1/2") to the length specified in the model
#: Select a stainless steel bar with the correct material specifications for the FTC Bank Bar.
#: Use a bandsaw to ensure the bar is ground to the correct length
#: Ensure the bar is clean, free from rust, and straight.
#: The final lenght should be within 10 thousandths of the specified length in the model
# Measure and Mark the Cutting Length
# Drill holes
#: Measure the required length of the FTC Bank Bar according to the design specifications.
#: Position the bar in the mill and drill a 0.169" hole .500" away from the edge of the bar
#: Use a marker to clearly mark the cutting line on the bar.
#: Note that the holes are 25 thousandths larger than the 6-32 screw that will pass through them
# Cut the Stainless Steel Bar
# Chamfer the holes
#: Secure the bar in a vise or clamp to prevent movement during cutting.
#: Use a carbide chamber bit to carefully chamfer the holes on both sides of the bar
#: Use an appropriate metal-cutting saw to cut the bar along the marked line.
#: This step is to remove any burrs around the holes. Handle the carbide bit with care, as it is brittle and can break easily
#: Ensure the cut is clean and straight.
# Remove burrs
# Deburr the Edges
#: Inspect the ends of the bar for any remaining burrs
#: After cutting, deburr the edges of the bar using a file or deburring tool to remove any sharp edges or burrs.
#: If burrs are present, use a grinding wheel to remove them and ensure a smooth finish.
#: Verify that the ends of the bar are smooth and even.
# Mark and Drill Holes
#: On both ends of the bar, measure and mark the positions where the holes will be tapped.
#: Ensure the holes are centered and spaced according to the design specifications.
#: Use a drill press to drill holes at the marked positions on both ends of the bar.
# Tap the Holes
#: Use an appropriate tap size to create threads in the drilled holes.
#: Ensure the threads are clean and free of debris, allowing screws to be easily inserted.
# Final Inspection
#: Inspect the FTC Bank Bar for any defects, such as uneven cuts, misaligned holes, or incomplete threads.
#: Verify that the bar meets all dimensional and quality specifications.
# Completion
#: The FTC Bank Bar is now ready for use in the assembly of the FTC Bank Support, where it will hold various FTC assemblies within the GM section of the system.
